Apollonian Circle Packing
Circles inside circles inside circles
Start with three mutually tangent circles. Two more circles can be drawn tangent to all three; fill each gap with another such circle, recursively, forever. Descartes' theorem ties their curvatures together algebraically, and in some starting configurations every circle in the entire packing has an integer curvature. Geometry full of secret arithmetic.
